The objectives of the project were to identify weak points on the network, simulate new vehicles with on-board batteries, reinforce some parts of the network with slave feeding points and upgrade system voltage from 600 V to 750 V.
Model of the DC traction network plus the AC medium voltage grid. The elements of the tram network have been imported from an intern GIS database. HTM have 2 models, the as-built situation and the engineering model where new and future developments can be tested. The following problems are solved: - Is the voltage of the contact wire within the values defined in EN50163? - Are low voltages on the system producing delays on the timetable? - Which is the intern temperature of the traction transformers during rush hour? - Which is the effect of changing the actual fleet for vehicles with on-board batteries? - Which is the effect of the DC traction network in the AC medium voltage network? - Which is the maximum temperature of the contact wire?
