The objectives of the project were to understand why some circuit breakers triger during normal operation and to test new timetables, new vehicle fleet and reduce the energy consumption on the system.

Description of the project:

Model of the system focused on the maximum instantaneous currents of the feeder cables. The following problems are solved with the simulation tool: - Is the voltage of the contact wire within the values defined in EN50163? - Which is the maximum current peak (1 second) for each feeder cable of the system? - Which is the steady state current flowing through each feeder cable of the system? - How much energy can be reduced in the system if the recuperation voltage of the vehicles is increased from 900V to 950V?
