The Hague tram (outer area)

The Hague tram (outer area)

The objectives of the project were to identify weak points on the network, reinforce some parts of the network with extra feeding points and reinforce the network with 2 new substations.

Description of the project:

Model of the DC traction network plus the AC medium voltage grid. HTM has 2 models: the as-built situation and the engineering model, where new and future developments can be tested. The following problems are solved: - Is the voltage of the contact wire within the values defined in EN50163? - Are low voltages on the system causing delays in the timetable? - How many new substations are needed to run the new frequency? - What is the internal temperature of the traction transformers during rush hour? - What is the effect of changing the current fleet for vehicles with on-board batteries? - What is the effect of the DC traction network on the AC medium voltage network? - What is the maximum temperature of the contact wire?
